Dispute resolution

The construction industry has as wide a range of dispute resolution procedures as any. The use of litigation and arbitration have been supplemented by adjudication, mediation and neutral evaluation. When carefully used, these procedures can yield quick and cost-effective results in dealing with disputes.

The Hill Dickinson construction team is experienced in dealing with all of these methods. The team includes accredited mediators and adjudicators who are members of national specialist panels. We also have individuals with construction industry experience prior to qualifying as lawyers.

This combination of experience and understanding of both the legal and commercial aspects of disputes is invaluable. It enables us to offer practical and pragmatic advice on the options open to our clients, no matter what stage the dispute has reached.

Although these strengths have resulted in the team being involved in some large and high-profile cases, we never lose sight of the need to deal with each dispute on its own merits. To help achieve this we can utilise all forms of dispute resolution. The most effective course of action may involve adjudication, litigation, mediation or arbitration, or even a combination of these if necessary.
