Capital of Culture: Our Sponsorship
Building a legacy
Hill Dickinson is advising Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008, as exclusive Official Lawyers on all legal and contractual dealings with sponsors, partners, suppliers, event organisers and the myriad of other businesses involved in the multi-year programme building up to 2008 and in the legacy years following.
The firm's programmes mirror the theme of Liverpool 08's themed years and, over-arching these themes, focus on four key objectives:
- Developing opportunities and benefits for clients and markets
- Conveying the brand values of the firm
- Involving all members of our staff and their families
- Contributing to the neighbourhood communities, market sectors and professional industries in which the firm operates in the UK and abroad
Hill Dickinson’s Capital of Culture programme for 2006 celebrates performance across the spheres of sport, arts and business. The firm's nominated charity for 2006 'Liverpool Performs' is SPARKS (Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids), a national children's charity which is committed to financing pioneering medical research into conditions affecting babies and young children. SPARKS is founded and supported by top personalities in sports and entertainment - Martin Johnson CBE is the charity's President.
On Friday 26 May, Hill Dickinson’s dedicated charity team hosted a firmwide ‘SPARKS Day’, officially launching the year in partnership with a variety of competitions and initiatives. For further information, please see the launch press announcement.
Many exciting initiatives and projects are planned for the rest of 2006 which aim to not only raise funds for SPARKS, but also to raise awareness of this cause and involve staff and their families in our initiatives.
