Duke of Westminster unveils piece of history at Hill Dickinson

The Duke of Westminster today unveiled a 246 year-old plaque from the original St Paul’s church which once stood where law firm Hill Dickinson’s Liverpool headquarters is now based.

Attached to the foundation stone of the church which was built between 1763 – 9, the plaque will be exhibited at Hill Dickinson’s offices in St Paul’s Square.

Hill Dickinson’s Senior Partner Tony Wilson said: “As the firm approaches its 200th anniversary in 2010, the plaque is of even greater historical interest to us. Having a local piece of history in this modern building is extremely significant and we are delighted the Duke of Westminster joined us today to unveil such an important find.”

Apart from two bells and altar silver, the plaque is all that remains from the old St Paul’s church which was demolished in 1931.
