Hill Dickinson gets off to a flying start

The Singapore office of international law firm, Hill Dickinson, is continuing to go from strength-to-strength since it launched earlier this year. Led by partner and Master Mariner Tony Goldsmith the Singapore office, which opened in March, has picked up a number of new instructions from the local market.

To manage the additional work the team has expanded quickly, bringing on board local recruit Shaun Lee. The firm has also recruited an administration team including Stacy Lim as office manager and secretary Celeste Foo.

“The response to the launch of the office has been outstanding and we have seen a significant development in our business by having a presence in this important shipping region,” said Tony Goldsmith. “We launched the office with a reception event which attracted well over 150 attendees and was a huge success. The team has been actively promoting the office within the local market and this resulted in several new instructions. We are planning for further growth, facilitated by the fantastic team that we now have here in Singapore.”

Just one week after opening the Singapore office Tony Goldsmith was instructed on a major incident off the Korean coast. As Tony said: “It was a great start for the team to get such an important instruction so quickly.

Hill Dickinson managing partner, Peter Jackson, who joined the Singapore team to celebrate the opening, added: “Having a base in Singapore was really important to us in developing our business in this important shipping area, as we can respond to our clients’ requirements more quickly and effectively. Tony’s team has done a great job of getting the office off the ground and we expect further growth within the Asia Pacific region in the near future.”

Hill Dickinson further strengthened its international business recently, by merging with  London law firm Middleton Potts. The move will significantly boost its presence in the commodities sector and add further weight to its global reputation for shipping and transport work.
