Hill Dickinson, leading UK law firm with offices in the North West and London, has today announced 15 key firmwide promotions, further reflecting the firm’s ongoing growth and expansion.
The promotions increase total partner figures from 116 to 125 and include: five new LLP members - Paul Ellaby (Company), Michael Jones (Company), Jamie Monck-Mason (Professional Services), Philip Farrar (Employment) and Adrian Marsh (Cargo & Freight); nine new partners – Chris Stanton (Professional Services), Andrew Leslie (NHSLA), Paula Leece (Insurance), Andrew Craggs (NHSLA), Paula Hanlon (Property), Tom Ferns (Company), Nerys Parry (Insurance), Saad Ahmed (Company) and James Upton (Employment); and one associate – Fionnuala Kenny (Private Client).
The company and commercial practice sees four partner promotions, demonstrating the firm’s growing strength in this sector. During the past 12 months Hill Dickinson has become one of the busiest company and commercial teams in the North West, acting on a number of high profile transactions such as the sale of Norse Merchant Group. The firm acted on behalf of the shareholders of Norse Merchant Group (predominantly US investment funds) in their sale to Norfolkline Shipping B.V. In 2005 the team completed over 40 deals, with an average deal size of around £20m.
The employment practice has also been boosted by two promotions in response to the firm’s increasing presence and expertise in the employment law arena. The employment and pensions team continues to provide and develop market leading products and services such as HD:Workshield, Hill Dickinson’s fixed fee, fully comprehensive, tailored employment law solution.
Tony Wilson, Hill Dickinson Senior Partner, comments: “We are delighted to announce the promotion of 15 Hill Dickinson lawyers across the firm and at various levels of seniority. The promotions play a significant role in Hill Dickinson’s growth and development strategy as we seek to facilitate, lead and support the firm’s expansion.”
Peter Jackson, Managing Partner, comments: “We are thrilled to have created an environment that encourages the development of specialist talent. As the competition for retaining and attracting the best legal talent intensifies, we remain dedicated to investing in our people and recognising achievement. These promotions round off what has been a very successful year for the firm and we look forward to an equally successful 2006/7.”
