Leading law firm Hill Dickinson has been shortlisted in four categories for the first ever Manchester Legal Awards, which is to take place on Thursday, 4th March 2010.
The nominations include teams of the year for crime and regulatory, pro bono and community initiative, and employment. Michael Morrison, head of the employment practice group, has also been shortlisted for partner of the year. Under his leadership, the practice group has grown by more than 30% in each of the last three years. The fraud team, headed up by Peter Oakes, has seen a 50% increase on last year in new instructions.
On the announcement, David Wareing, partner and head of Hill Dickinson’s Manchester office, commented: “There is a raft of exceptional talent in the city and it is therefore gratifying to have been recognised as one of the leading law firms. We wish the nominated teams and Michael every success on 4th March”.
The legal awards have been launched by the Manchester Law Society to showcase the wealth of legal talent in the region. The panel includes: David Thomas, Managing Director, Alpha BioLabs; John Dunn President, Manchester Law Society and Senior Partner, Thornleys; Judge Andrew Gilbart QC, Honorary Recorder of Manchester; Professor Nigel Savage, Chief Executive, The College of Law and Richard Marks QC, Leader of the Northern Circuit.
