Hill Dickinson Wins Spirit of Merseyside Award

International law firm Hill Dickinson has won the Corporate Philanthropy Award at the 2010 Spirit of Merseyside Awards, which took place at the Anglican Cathedral in the city last week.

Hill Dickinson’s Andrew Rushworth, Colin Wardale, Holly Nelson and Laura Salisbury collected the award from Kerry Clayton, Trusts Manager at sponsors, Rathbones and Rod Holmes, chair of the Mersey Partnership. The accolade is awarded to the corporate partner of the Community Foundation that has made a significant difference to communities across Merseyside by embracing the values of philanthropy.

Andrew Rushworth, director of human resources and head of CSR at Hill Dickinson, said: “As a firm we always try to support charities wherever possible, and engage our staff in all of our CSR activities. This award is external recognition of our internal efforts and we are proud our employees fully embrace our commitment to support those less fortunate than ourselves in our local communities.”

2010 marks Hill Dickinson’s 200th year in business and the firm is working with the Community Foundation Network to raise vital funds for grassroots community projects across the North West.  The firm is currently supporting the Breckfield and North Everton Neighbourhood Council (BNENC), by pledging £20,000, which has been raised through staff fundraising, donations and from the interest gained from Hill Dickinson’s endowment fund. This £25,000 endowment fund is the firm’s long-term commitment to the Community Foundation for Merseyside, from which the interest will benefit local charities.
