Tony heads the yacht team, and has more than 20 years' experience of yacht-related legal issues and a reputation as one of the leaders in this field. His work focuses primarily on large yacht transactions and major yacht insurance disputes. He has an international client base, and has worked with most of the leading European yacht underwriters and yards.
Tony has an active involvement in industry bodies such as the Superyacht Society, the British Marine Federation and its Superyacht UK initiative, and the Royal Yachting Association. Tony is an experienced sailor and fluent French speaker.
Geraldine is head of the firm’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution team, which has grown significantly following the acquisition of the Liverpool and Sheffield offices of Halliwells. She has 20 years’ experience and handles complex, high value matters for a wide range of clients including banks, major plcs and high profile individuals.
Recent successes include the Court of Appeal decision in the case of Durham Tees Valley Airport against bmibaby. She also acted for Wayne and Coleen Rooney in a dispute with Wayne’s former agents.
She is the firm’s client relationship partner for Barclays Bank plc and has developed a good relationship with the team at Barclays.
Geraldine is recognised as a leader in her field and is ranked in both Chambers and Partners UK and Legal 500 UK as a leading commercial litigator. She is described as “terrific” and “respected throughout the market for her favourable reputation among barristers as well as the strong following she has earned the department in general”.
