Malcolm receives instructions from a wide range of clients involved in the leasing and asset finance sector, including a number of independent entities and the leasing subsidiaries of UK and overseas banks and financial institutions. The work involves domestic and cross border leasing/secured lending structures, receivables financing, etc and Malcolm has been recognised as an expert in this field by The Legal 500. Malcolm is also involved in general company and commercial transactions and in computer hardware and software agreements. Malcolm has advised in respect of Private Finance Initiative (“PFI”) transactions (primarily from the perspective of funders of the principal suppliers of the services) and on international company restructurings, acquisitions and disposals. Malcolm also deals with shipping transactions, including shipping finance, sales and purchases and has acted for various buyers in a series of ship construction contracts.
