Tony McDonach

After completing the Law Society Final examinations in 1993, Tony joined Richards Hogg Limited and worked for seven years as an average adjuster dealing with all aspects of shipping and marine insurance claims, including general and particular average, salvage, collisions and cargo recovery claims against shipowners. He qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1998.
Tony joined Hill Dickinson as a solicitor in September 2000 specialising in personal injury involving third parties and employees. He has dealt with a broad range of shipboard cases including passengers' personal injury claims against ships' doctors, slip and trip cases on cruise ships and passenger ferries and claims brought under both the Athens Convention and the Package Travel Regulations. He has also defended shipowners from crew claims involving injuries sustained during loading operations, industrial diseases and sub-contractor claims against shipowners. Tony acts for a variety of shore based clients, including port operators, and non-marine clients.
