Sally Wightman

Partner

Recognised as a leading corporate player in the region, Sally heads up the corporate team at Hill Dickinson, Chester and is director of the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce. Sally also operates nationally and advises overseas companies too.

With over 20 years’ corporate transactional experience, Sally focuses on a wide variety of sectors - manufacturing, financial and health, in particular - and has a reputation for offering ‘superb M&A advice and making complex issues appear less so’ (Legal 500, 2012) and being ‘the driving force behind the firm’s Chester office and continuing to attract major instructions’ (Legal 500, 2011).

Working with both public and private companies, banks, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, shareholders and family businesses; Sally possesses extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, alongside many other corporate transactions. She also specialises in joint ventures, group reorganisations and corporate governance and advisory.

Sally’s extensive client base includes many of the major organisations in Chester (and surrounds). Notable recent instructions include:

(i) Advising on major transactions (£10m-£30m) across the North West in the health sector.
(ii) Advising on due diligence for a proposed (circa £90m) acquisition of a book of receivables.
(iii) Advising on a shareholder’s successful exit from a leading European manufacturing company based in North Wales.
(iv) Advising in connection with the purchase of a special purchase vehicle for a newly formed, energy-from-waste company.
(v) Advising an international aviation company on joint venture and corporate governance and compliance matters.
(vi) Advising a specialist national dairy product group in connection with corporate transactions and joint ventures.

Sally is a member of Cheshire and North Wales Law Society and Chester Business Club and is also actively involved in the local business community. She is based in the Chester office and has lived in the region for over 10 years.
