Afsor is a senior associate in the Real Estate Team and specialises in Islamic Finance. He has spent the last 10 years acting for investors and financial institutions utilising both conventional and Islamic finance structures.

Details

Prior to joining Hill Dickinson, Afsor was a Legal Director at Shakespeare Martineau where he acted for numerous Islamic Banks both in the UK and abroad, and was also responsible for the training and supervising members of the Islamic Finance Team there. He continues to be a key client contact to advise on numerous issues pertaining to real estate finance transactions particularly where there is an Islamic finance element.

Afsor is well experienced advising on both residential and commercial property using conventional finance and the various types of Islamic Finance structures including Ijarah Leasing, Diminishing Musharakah and Murabaha. He has experience acting on single high value residential property in prime locations, portfolio funding and commercial property. Outside of Islamic Finance, he has also acted on for development finance lenders and short-term bridging providers on a variety of different projects.

Afsor is a graduate of the law faculty of University College London (LL.B. 2008).
