Paul heads up the Restructuring and Insolvency team. He works primarily with businesses, funders and insolvency practitioners focussing on the delivery of commercial solutions.

Details

Paul is primarily a business lawyer with extensive experience in corporate and personal insolvency work.

The Restructuring team acts for a substantial number of insolvency practitioners nationally and locally on a broad range of mandates including transactional and contentious assignments. Paul also provides strategic advice to owners and funders of distressed businesses nationally and internationally with particular focus in recent months on issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Paul has developed an ability to manage complex real estate work outs and the team works regularly with a number of real estate professionals and fixed charge receivers. He served a term as a council member of NARA. The Restructuring team’s work was recognised at the 2019 Turnaround Restructuring and Insolvency awards when they were voted ‘Insolvency Law Firm of the Year’.

    • Acted for FRP on the restructuring and administration of No1 Currency Limited and Thomas Exchange Global limited, group companies trading a large number of bureaux de change across the UK
    • Advised the board of Cruise&Maritime Voyages group, a global cruise operator, on its proposed restructuring
    • Acted for RSM as administrators of First4Skills limited, the largest national provider of training services to apprentices
    • Acted for Supervisor of Mapeley Gamma Group - Interlocking CVA’s of 5 connected Bermuda registered trading property investment companies
    • Acted for Aperture IVA on its acquisition of large IVA portfolio and associated trust accounts from administrators of Debt Free Direct/Fairpoint Group
