Jonathan has over 20 years’ experience as a lawyer acting on behalf of NHS Trusts and private insurers in defending both clinical negligence and personal injury claims.
He passionate about improving patient safety and works closely with clients to help them to learn from claims and identify practical ways to reduce future risks. He regularly conducts training on key issues for clients such as implementing the duty of candour and consent to treatment.
He is an experienced litigator with reputation for identifying the right areas to challenge on a claim and an ability to achieve a resolution of event the most challenging and sensitive matters. His experience includes the high profile Court of Appeal decision in Reaney -v- Mid Staffordshire & another (2015) and the notable quantum case of Riley -v- Salford Royal NHS FT (2022)
Jonathan started out at Lancaster Royal Grammar School before studying law at the University of Sheffield. He did his training contract at Hill Dickinson LLP, where he is proud to have remained ever since.
