About me
As a legal director in our Commercial Dispute Resolution team, I work across all manner of disputes for clients including high net worth individuals, public bodies and companies.
Commercial disputes can take many forms and, having particular expertise in business protection matters, I tend to deal with disputes involving breach of contract and professional negligence claims, public procurement and company disputes and public inquiries.
My clients tell me they appreciate my relaxed manner and the fact that I work collaboratively with them to develop strategies aimed at securing the best possible outcome. But I like to think what sets me apart in my area of law is my commercial acumen: I’m an experienced litigator and a clear strategic thinker who’s completely focused on achieving great results for my clients whether that’s through negotiated settlement involving all forms of ADR, or at court.
Having joined the firm as a trainee in 2010, I’ve built my career here and I can honestly say we’re a great team.
My experience
- Advising a national health body in high profile TCC proceedings relating to a purported breach of contract arising from restrictions imposed by COVID-19 lockdown measures.
- Acting for a top 20 business advisory and accountancy group in a high-value conspiracy claim against its former employees and consultants, involving a successful application for springboard relief.
- Representing a public transport body in complex, high-value proceedings in respect of alleged water ingress at a property.
- Acting for one of the world’s largest air services providers in respect of an unlawful team move.
- Acting for a major provider of mail and parcel delivery services in a restrictive covenant dispute against a former employee [The Delivery Group Ltd -v- Yeo [2021] EWHC 1834 (QB)].
- Acting for Durham Tees Valley Airport at the quantum stage of the reported High Court and Court of Appeal case of Durham Tees Valley Airport -v- Bmibaby.
