About me
I’m a specialist in healthcare real estate law, who helps clients with a wide range of transactions, especially those which involve landlord and tenant matters.
The matters I advise on include leases, licences and agreements for lease. I’m also experienced in carrying out due diligence for corporate transactions, as well as handling acquisitions, disposals, Memorandum of Terms of Occupation (MOTOs) and leases being taken of LIFT buildings from Community Health Partnerships (uLPAS). Meanwhile, I advise on various other matters, including green lease clauses.
My client spans a wide range of organisations in the healthcare sector, from foundation trusts, NHS Trusts and GPs to Community Interest Companies and integrated care boards.
I’m known for my strong communication skills, and for taking the personal approach, acting as a trusted advisor who is on hand to support at every point of the deal. The relationships I create are vital to what I do, and I aim to be a partner clients can depend on for the long term.
My experience
- Drafting and negotiating the terms of commercial leases, agreements for lease, Licences to Occupy, deeds of surrender and Licences to Assign for NHS Foundation Trusts, using knowledge of NHS estates to guide the negotiations and to benefit clients.
- Carrying out property support and due diligence as part of corporate transactions.
- Undertaking urgent and extensive due diligence to identify barriers to planned works, which were to be documented by way of a lease and Licence for Works.
- Advising NHS Trusts on MOTOs to be granted to them by NHS Property Services.
- Advising NHS Trusts on uLPAs
