About me
I work as part of the firm’s Employment and Pensions team, specialising in employment work for the public sector, almost exclusively for the NHS.
I have extensive experience in a range of employment law matters, undertaking advocacy in the Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. I also conduct litigation in matters in the Court of Appeal and advise on all aspects of this increasingly complex area of law, including TUPE, the working time directive, race, sex and disability discrimination and redundancy.
My clients are very busy people, so they appreciate my approachability and that I get to the point quickly, providing succinct answers to their questions - rather than a lengthy exposition of the law - and solutions to their problems. Being able to use my experience to support witnesses at tribunal and achieving the right result together is always very rewarding and the reason I love what I do.
Away from work I’m a family man, having raised three sons, and chair of governors at a local primary school.
My experience
- Member of the Employment Lawyers Association
- Acted for Cheshire and Wirral Partnership in an equal pay issue which reached the Court of Appeal.
- Acted for the Walton Centre in a test case about equal pay comparators, in the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
