About me

I specialise in healthcare law, particularly mental health and mental capacity. I assist clients in relation to proceedings before the Court of Protection, including proceedings both challenging and seeking authorisation of deprivations of liberty, and welfare proceedings. I also advise clients on Mental Health Act matters, regulatory and commissioning issues.

Representing NHS trusts, commissioners, integrated care boards and private providers, I focus on building collaborative relationships by listening carefully to clients to understand their issues and the constraints they’re working to in order to provide sensible, pragmatic and workable solutions.

Following qualification as a solicitor, I practised for many years as a litigator specialising in insurance and professional negligence. I took a career break and, on my return, worked for the NHS for a couple of years which sparked my interest in healthcare law. I completed a Master’s Degree in Medical Law and Ethics before joining Hill Dickinson’s Healthcare team in September 2024.

I hope clients find me to be responsive, calm, clear, effective and reliable. Healthcare work concerns some of the most vulnerable people in society, so being a small part of a legal process that can make a positive difference to their lives is very rewarding.
