About me
As a Piraeus-based partner, I specialise in shipping and international trade disputes in the context of both arbitration and court proceedings under English law, including cross-border and trade finance disputes, advising owners, charterers, P&I clubs, marine insurers and shipbrokers.
My work covers the full range of shipping and trade issues, from charterparty and bill of lading / cargo disputes to marine insurance, shipbuilding and sale and purchase matters, as well as casualties involving general average, unseaworthiness, abandonment and transshipment considerations. I also advise on international trade sanctions as well as decarbonisation, including CII, EU ETS and FuelEU maritime drafting issues.
I am also a longstanding Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), and I accept appointments as an arbitrator in relation to matters within my expertise.
Clients describe me as thorough, responsive and commercially minded. I aim to deliver clear strategy and decisive action, combining technical precision with a practical approach to resolving disputes.
Beyond the law, as well as being a father and a proud Greek, I’m also a straight talker who believes that, even in the most technical disputes, success depends on clear thinking and strategy. These are qualities I strive to bring to every case.
