About me

I’m a partner in our Health Real Estate team, specialising in commercial property transactions.

My work spans all aspects of property law as it applies to the health sector, so I advise on everything from disposals and acquisitions, site developments and lease arrangements to primary care premises strategy, funding and policy.

My clients are typically NHS and foundation trusts, primary care providers and commissioners, Integrated Care Boards and private sector health and social care providers, as well as charities. I love working collaboratively with my clients, knowing they place patient care at the very core of what they do.

As their adviser, I’m approachable and pragmatic, taking a commercial approach to transactions and working closely with my clients throughout, so they’re kept updated and we meet agreed timescales.

Having advised healthcare clients for almost 20 years, including completing in-house legal team secondments at Community Health Partnerships and NHS England, my clients not only appreciate my legal expertise but my insight into their day-to-day work.

It’s that understanding and being able to support them in providing the best healthcare facilities and opportunities in the sector that makes my work so incredibly rewarding.

My experience

  • Acted for an NHS Foundation trust on the conditional sale of former HQ site for residential development in three phases.
  • Advised an NHS foundation trust on the acquisition of land from NHS PS and a neighbouring ambulance trust to facilitate the construction of a new healthcare centre.
  • Advised a private medical company on its integrated Medical Diagnostic Facility housed in an Olympic Legacy Park in Sheffield.
  • Represented an ICB and multiple GP practices in negotiating settlement of rent arrears and new leases with NHS Property Services.
  • Supported an NHS trust prior to its merger with another NHS trust by undertaking a full estates review including RAG-rating all estates issues and advising on how to resolve those efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Advising an NHS trust subsidiary company on the acquisition and development of a redundant brownfield site for a new community healthcare centre.
