About me
I’m a partner specialising in commercial, contract and governance law in the health and wider public sector.
I manage a portfolio of clients that includes national NHS bodies, NHS trusts and foundation trusts, Integrated Care Boards, local authorities and wider public bodies, and independent providers of health and care services, helping my clients navigate legal challenges and providing pragmatic legal advice to help them find solutions that align with their strategies.
I aim to build relationships with my clients so that I become an extension of their team and can provide the best advice to achieve their desired outcomes. My experience means I can cut through problems quickly, identify potential risks and help guide clients to commercial solutions.
It’s an absolute privilege, in particular, to work with clients who are totally committed to the success of the NHS and the people it serves, and I often get to work on projects that directly impact people’s lives. Knowing I have my clients’ trust and that they find me knowledgeable, calm and easy to engage with is also very rewarding.
Aside from my legal work, I’m the equality lead for the firm’s Family & Life Stages working group.
My experience
- Advising an NHS trust on the acquisition of a privately operated NHS facility for secure inpatient mental health services.
- Working with the Black Country Provider Collaborative (4 NHS trusts) on governance arrangements to establish a joint committee and collaborative agreement.
- Advising the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) on future clinical and corporate services models.
- Working with four Integrated Care Boards on arrangements for the delegation of, and collaborative governance arrangements for, specialised commissioning functions.
- Working with a national NHS body to develop the contracting model for specialised mental health services provider collaboratives.
- Advising an independent provider of ADHD services on patient choice matters.
