Helen Matthews

About me

I’m a legal director in our Healthcare team, specialising in commercial and corporate matters for clients working in the primary care sector – typically general practice, dentists and at scale providers.

My approach with clients is to be human, practical and supportive, providing them with clear, tailored advice in plain English so we create a relationship of trust and understanding. By keeping my clients abreast of any changes in their sector, I aim to proactively foresee issues that might be relevant to them.

Nurturing those relationships, sometimes over the course of several months or years, and seeing my clients succeed is certainly one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Away from work, I’m a trustee of a charitable social enterprise in Leeds and like to spend as much time as I can outdoors – running and walking around Yorkshire.

My experience

• Assisted North Cumbria Primary Care Alliance on the expansion of their network of practices.
• Supporting the ongoing development of various neighbourhood providers.
• Assisted a private health services provider on their corporate reorganisation as well as developing their commercial template contracts for service delivery and delivering training on their use.
• Delivered training for Primary Care Commissioning on primary care network models.
