About me
I specialise in international commercial dispute resolution with a particular focus on shipping, commodities and marine insurance disputes.
I regularly advise on both ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ shipping matters. This includes collisions, allisions, explosions and fires on board vessels, container casualties, wreck removals, salvage cases, groundings, GA disputes, dry issues arising out of casualties, contracts of affreightment, vessel sharing agreements, and bills of lading and charterparty based disputes.
Having practised in both London and Singapore, I’ve worked with a diverse clientele across various sectors and regions. I advise a range of maritime stakeholders – from shipowners and ship operators to charterers, P&I clubs, market underwriters, traders and underwriters, as well as cargo owners.
My approach is to provide clear, practical and commercially sound advice. I’m known for keeping calm, thriving under pressure and being a steadying influence when challenges arise. In doing so, I help clients navigate problems and resolve complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes.
My experience
- Advising the owners of a car carrier and their insurers regarding a major casualty.
- Advising slot charterers in relation to a significant container ship casualty.
- Advising owners in a large-scale cargo claim.
- Representing salvors in respect of a large tanker casualty.
- Advising on a complex multi-jurisdictional charterparty claim up and down the charterparty chain.
