About me

I’m a Partner in Hill Dickinson’s Health Litigation team and Deputy Head of our Liverpool office. My specialism is defending clinical negligence claims for NHS and private healthcare clients, with a focus on primary care, high-value and multi-defendant cases involving obstetric injuries, spinal damage, amputations and paraplegia.

With over two decades in healthcare law, I bring empathy and strategic clarity to complex cases, whether advising on risk management, patient safety improvement or early dispute resolution. I also lead our national work on primary care claims.

My approach is evidence-led and centred on strong communication. These qualities enable me to build trust and deliver results, perhaps most notably in the landmark Ronayne Court of Appeal case on secondary victim claims.

I’m passionate about social mobility, mentoring the next generation and making law more accessible. Fun comes in the form of road trips. California’s Mojave Desert was unforgettable. My go-to karaoke track is Rhinestone Cowboy.

My experience

  • Member of FOIL
  • Successful at Trial in a number of cases
  • Represented the Trust in the Court of Appeal case of Liverpool Womens Hospital v Ronayne [2015] EWCA Civ 588. This defined the law around what qualified as ‘shock’ in secondary victim claims.
