About me

As non-executive Chair of Hill Dickinson, I continue to support the strategic direction and governance of the firm while maintaining a client-facing role as a senior corporate practitioner. I’ve spent more than three decades advising investors, listed companies, large companies and family businesses on mergers, acquisitions and cross-border transactions.

Much of my work has focused on sectors like transport, manufacturing, and food. This involves advising clients such as the Stobart Group, Edward Billington and Son Ltd, and Bibby Line Group. I’ve also held non-executive roles across public and private organisations, including Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Medicash Health Benefits, Derwent Lodge Estates, PHD Industrial Holdings and Praetura Group.

Clients value my strategic insight and calm counsel, particularly in high-value or complex deals. I bring commercial focus and integrity to every relationship.

Outside of work, I enjoy all sports including playing cricket and hockey (just) as well as walking in the fresh air.

My experience

  • Acting in the sale of Eddie Stobart.
  • Acquisition of Flybe Group PLC.
  • Acquisition of Aimia Foods.
  • Sale of Athena Healthcare to Welltower and CCG.
  • Sale of CM Fertilisers by Carrs Milling to Origin plc.
  • Acquisition of Northern Automotive for Lawrence Automotive.
