About me

With over three decades of experience, I specialise in construction law.

I advise on contractual and commercial aspects of construction projects and have worked on major projects across sectors including infrastructure, marine, health and oil and gas.

I’m also an expert in representing clients in construction-related disputes, regularly acting in high-value conflicts relating to design issues, defects, loss and expense and extensions of time.

I do whatever it takes to get the right result. My approach is proactive, I aim to prevent disputes wherever possible and when they arise, I work hard to resolve them swiftly, efficiently and in my client’s best interests.

Dual-qualified in construction law and quantity surveying, I offer a unique blend of legal and technical expertise, helping clients navigate complex challenges with confidence.

My clients are developers, public-sector bodies and sub-contractors. I also advise building contractors, based both here in the UK and overseas.

My experience

  • Successfully defended a Spanish building contractor against £13 million claims for defective works on a new-build PFI hospital project
  • Acting for a train operating company to successfully defend it from a contractor’s claim for extensions of time
  • Representing a building contractor in an adjudication relating to claims for loss and expense on a mixed-use development in Sheffield. The Adjudicator awarded the client over £11 million

  • Acted for a property developer, successfully defending against a contractor’s £10 million claim for loss and expense
