About me

I’m a specialist in mental health related inquests.

I regularly work with mental health and acute mental health trusts, and I’m often instructed to act for private healthcare providers who deliver care in prisons.

I make it my mission to understand the circumstances each client faces and to provide clear, pragmatic advice to help them make sound decisions. I guide and support my clients throughout the inquest process, offering reassurance and clarity as they navigate what can be a difficult time.

I’ve worked as both a litigator and on secondment at a mental health trust, giving me a well rounded perspective that helps clients understand the practical realities of complex situations.

Seeing my clients use learnings from inquests to improve patient safety, and drive meaningful change across our healthcare system, is something I find incredibly rewarding.

My experience

  • Specialises in complex mental health inquests where Article 2 is engaged and serious clinical incidents such as deaths in state detention (prisons and mental health facilities)
  • Provides support on patient safety investigations
  • Spent 18 months on secondment to a large mental health trust
  • Experienced in handling clinical and non-clinical ligation claims
