About me

I am a Professional Support Lawyer and specialise in employment law, with experience in managing complex, high-value tribunal proceedings and advising NHS clients on discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal.

I work closely with the Health Employment team to offer value-added client services including providing tailored training, events and legal updates on important employment tribunal decisions and developments in the law. I’m also responsible for knowledge sharing within the team and maintaining our internal database of precedents and legal know-how, to enhance the quality and efficiency of our legal service.

One aspect of my job that I’m most passionate about is mentoring junior team members, helping them develop their employment law knowledge and technical skills to progress in their careers while continuing to provide outstanding client service.

Together we predominantly advise NHS trusts but also represent other health organisations across both the public and private sectors.

My experience

  • Successfully defended a non-departmental public body against a claim of judicial review involving a trainee doctor.
  • Acted on behalf of an NHS body in defence of a test case addressing the scope of the extended definition of a worker under s.43K Employment Rights Act (whistleblowing legislation).
  • Successfully defended an NHS trust against a discrimination claim brought by a transgender patient, involving complex issues under the Gender Recognition Act and Data Protection Act.
