About me
I specialise in commodities, shipping and insurance with a particular expertise in energy. I provide urgent real time legal and commercial advice as well as handling on-going disputes and advising on the very wide range of contracts that are relevant to international trade and insurance. I
first qualified as an English solicitor, then as a French avocat and thereafter as an Irish solicitor. I am a dual British and French national. I love problem solving and clients have said I can “see round corners”.
Outside of work, I unwind by cooking, enjoying good wine and trying to find time for the gym.
My experience
- I am qualified in three jurisdictions; England & Wales, France and Ireland.
- I advise on all aspects of trade; sale contracts, GTCs, bills of lading, charter parties, CoAs and long-term supply agreements, insurance policies, letters of credit, letters of indemnity, freight forwarding agreements etc. My aim is to be an extension of a client’s in-house legal team, providing swift accurate advice whenever and wherever called upon.
- When assisting clients with trading, chartering and carriage of goods issues, I am also able to advise on their associated insurance recoveries.
- I have developed considerable expertise in energy disputes and commercial operations over almost 30 years, working for traders and oil majors such as Gunvor, Addax, BP, Phillips 66, Karoon Energy and Raizen.
