About me
As an experienced healthcare and public law specialist, I’m here to help public and private health and social care providers reach the best outcome, whatever challenge they face.
My expertise spans a range of areas including inquiries, patient safety reviews, complex inquests, Court of Protection cases, administrative law, independent investigations, information governance matters, health and safety, corporate manslaughter and mental health queries.
Friendly by nature, I’m the safe pair of hands my clients need to navigate legal proceedings, no matter how difficult. I provide the clear, pragmatic and strategic advice clients need to make truly informed decisions, and I always make sure I’m available, so clients can depend on me.
In court, I act as a true advocate for my clients, drawing on my knowledge, confidence and ability to keep calm under pressure to achieve the best outcome for my client. I pride myself on my ability to give witnesses the support they need to manoeuvre through proceedings successfully.
Improving patient safety is a passion of mine – I lead Hill Dickinson’s Patient Safety Network and I’ve been actively involved in our national patient safety campaign.
Family is also important to me and I have two young children who I’m very dedicated to.
My experience

- Advised an NHS Trust on the wide range of legal issues that arose including its patient safety investigations into the historical actions of a surgeon.
- Represented an NHS Trust in a high-profile inquest linked to a criminal prosecution.
- Frequently represented clients at inquests concerning maternal and neonatal deaths, which are extremely sensitive.
- Advised NHS England and Strategic Health Authorities on the legal implications of publishing independently commissioned mental health homicide reviews alongside wider independent investigations.
