About me
I lead our Sport team.
I’m an expert in sports regulation, advising on matters such as challenges to governing body decisions, sports governance, the drafting and interpretation of sport rules and regulations, and the conduct of related cases covering areas including discipline, safeguarding, anti-doping and anti-corruption.
I’m also experienced in handling commercial dispute resolution in the sports industry, and my practice is complemented by practical experience of other practice areas relevant to the sector such as general commercial law, privacy, defamation, media, competition and data protection law.
Throughout my career I’ve advised a wide range of sporting organisations including national and international governing bodies, event organisers, clubs and other commercial entities.
I’m straightforward and practically-minded, taking great care to understand the entire context of a matter, including the legal issues, commercial background and any reputational and other factors at play. By doing so, I make sure clients have all the insight they need to move forward with confidence.
I’m passionate about the sports industry and I find it satisfying to help clients achieve favourable results in challenging cases of all kinds. I have a particular interest in safeguarding, and supporting sports organisations in responsibly navigating the regulation of such an important area.
My experience
- Has worked on some of the most high-profile and complex cases in sport for a number of national and international clients, covering areas including safeguarding, anti-doping, anti-corruption, and financial regulation
- Has served as the Chair of the British Association for Sport and Law since 2025
- Qualified as a solicitor advocate with higher rights of audience (civil)
- Contributed two chapters to ‘Sport: Law and Practice’, covering safeguarding and esports
- Contributed two chapters to ‘Football and the Law’, covering institutions and safeguarding
- Acted as a former trustee, covering safeguarding, for London Sport
