About me
I’m a partner in our Marine team and advise on marine and travel related personal injury and fatal accident claims, which can include claims by passengers, crew, employees or third parties. I also handle land based personal injury claims whether employers’ liability or public liability claims for companies and their insurers.
My clients are predominantly cruise, ferry, yacht and tour operators, offshore and shipping companies as well as port operators. I also act for a variety of insurers, including P&I clubs and RSA.
Most of my work is focused on high-value, sensitive and/or complex claims and can also involve jurisdictional issues, such as cross-border claims.
I’m a friendly and outgoing person, so I enjoy working collaboratively with clients, providing the support they need not only from me and my team but from colleagues in the wider firm. Where appropriate, I try to be proactive and give commercial and practical advice, so clients achieve the best outcome.
I also enjoy travelling to meet clients, colleagues and associates and building relationships both internally and externally. My clients would probably describe me as approachable, reliable, and committed to understanding their needs.
Separate to the day job, I enjoy being involved in our trainee committee and seeing junior colleagues progress within the firm. I also enjoy travelling to new places, walking my dog, and cooking!
My experience
- Defended a class action gastric illness claim from passengers onboard a cruise ship in Nolan -v- TUI UK Ltd. This claim assisted with reducing the thousands of sickness claims being experienced by cruise lines and tour operators
- Recently resolved a crew claim involving three different accidents on the same vessel at different times
- Act for ferry companies and a variety of cruise lines based around the world
- Act for a variety of insurers and P&I Clubs
- Assist clients by collaborating with international law firms on client’s behalf
- Completed a secondment at a leading P&I Club
- Regularly give presentations to clients including in Oslo, Gothenburg, Greece and Cyprus, and recently presented and sponsored the ABTA cruise claims seminar in London
