About me
I’m a dedicated shipping and marine litigator.
I handle a range of disputes relating to areas such as charterparties, bills of lading, marine insurance policies and sale contracts. My clients include vessel owners, charterers and marine insurers.
Every client’s situation is unique, and I take a tailored approach to ensure I provide the most effective service possible. I make sure to explain the legal issues at play carefully, clearly outline the client’s position, and work closely with them to bring about suitable outcomes.
No matter the circumstances, clients can depend on me to be in their corner. I enjoy a challenge, and the most rewarding part of my role is being on hand to help clients navigate complex issues and develop practical, legally robust and commercially effective solutions.
Outside of work, I like to unwind by reading and going swimming.
My experience
- Acted for vessel owners in a dispute arising from a sub-contract agreement.
- Advised IG protection and indemnity clubs, hull and machinery underwriters and cargo insurers, as well as acted for them in negotiations.
- Advised and acted for major carriers in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia as well as global carriers and freight-forwarders in a variety of disputes.
- Experience in LMAA, SIAC, SCMA, HKIAC and ad-hoc arbitrations.
- Member of the Law Society of Singapore and the Singapore Academy of Law.
- Contributed to ‘Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore, volume three: carriers’ (2023 reissue).
