About me
I’m a healthcare lawyer and specialise in advising on matters relating to inquests, clinical and non-clinical claims, and regulatory matters across healthcare and public law. My work involves both advisory and litigation and my clients are predominantly public (NHS trusts) and independent healthcare providers.
It’s my job to help clients navigate complex legal challenges, avoid regulatory pitfalls and manage risk effectively. Healthcare law is a highly complex regulatory environment to operate in, so my clients appreciate that I’m quick and decisive, a strategic thinker and aways aim to provide them with tailored, practical and responsive support.
I take pride in delivering solutions that not only address legal risk but support better outcomes for patients, staff and organisations. Knowing that my work can contribute to learning, improvement and reassurance - especially in difficult or sensitive circumstances - is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Away from work, my two young children keep me busy and well-practised in negotiation, time management and crisis resolution – all skills that translate surprisingly well to legal practice!
My experience
- Specialist in complex and high-profile inquests, often involving multiple interested parties, Article 2 engagement, serious clinical incidents (including deaths in custody and mental health-related fatalities), and failures across acute, community, and specialist care settings.
- Provide strategic support on patient safety investigations, lesson learning exercises, and responses to external inquiries led by barristers or regulators.
- Trusted to advise on regulatory and reputational risk, including GMC referrals, police and Care Quality Commission investigations, coronial processes, and media management.
- Experienced in clinical and non-clinical litigation, including claims involving misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, and systemic failings.
- Regularly advise on health advisory matters, including consent to treatment, capacity, data protection, and information governance.
- Have worked in-house at over 10 NHS trusts, often at the request of Executive teams, developing strong board-level relationships and a deep understanding of operational pressures and governance frameworks.
