About me

I specialise in healthcare litigation, defending NHS trusts, on behalf of NHS Resolution, against clinical negligence claims and a wide variety of non-clinical claims, such employers’ liability, public liability, vicarious liability and claims under the Human Rights Act 1998.

Services operated by the trusts we represent can include hospitals, mental health facilities, ambulance services and more, and I deal with claims from the initial Letter of Claim right up to resolution.

I’d like clients to feel that I am approachable, practical and conscientious. My background as a claimant solicitor before joining Hill Dickinson gave me invaluable experience in understanding both sides of litigation, so I aim to provide options for robustly defending claims where necessary and recommend early admissions and settlement where appropriate.

What excites me in my role is the wide variety of work. On any given day I might be researching case law or procedure, interviewing witnesses and learning all about their workplaces and roles, or reviewing medical records and reports and learning about diagnoses and treatment options. No two claims are the same, and there’s always an opportunity to learn something new.

My experience

  • I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of St Andrews in 2011 and then completed the GDL and LPC at the College of Law, Manchester.
  • Before qualifying as a solicitor, I worked for a legal expenses insurer, where I assisted with a successful application for SRA authorisation of a new law firm.
  • Prior to joining Hill Dickinson, I specialised in claimant personal injury work, although I also dealt with other kinds of civil litigation, including professional negligence claims.
  • I qualified as a solicitor in 2020 and joined Hill Dickinson as an associate in 2024.
