Based in Leeds and London, I specialise in private equity, private capital and M&A transactions.
My clients include private equity houses, private equity-backed businesses, family offices, management teams, founders and high net worth individuals based in the UK and internationally.
My practice has a particular focus on sponsor-backed transactions including platform investments, bolt-on acquisitions, exits, management equity arrangements and complex shareholder structures.
I regularly advise on cross-border transactions, leading the UK aspects of international deals and co-ordinating overseas counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
I have experience across a range of sectors including manufacturing, logistics, technology, energy transition, defence, healthcare, food and drink, retail, professional services and financial services.
I place particular emphasis on understanding my clients’ commercial objectives and providing practical, commercially focused advice. Many of my client relationships have developed over a number of years and multiple transactions, enabling me to provide continuity and strategic insight throughout the investment lifecycle.
My experience
- Acted for Magnesium Capital, a private equity house focused on investments in the energy transition sector, on its acquisition of ABEC, a leading provider of building management and electrical power monitoring solutions for data centres and other end markets in the UK, Europe and other international markets.
- Acted for Swedish-based long-term investor Novax AB, the investment arm of the Axel Johnson Group on its platform acquisition of Ingå and subsequent bolt-on acquisitions, including MSK Ingredients and JM Posner.
- Acted for private equity house BGF on various investments including its investment in specialist physiotherapy provider Primary Care Physio.
- Acted for private equity house Endless on various investments and exits including the platform acquisitions of BSW Timber, Menzies Distribution and ASCO; and exits from Adare International, BSW Timber, KTC Group, Menzies Distribution and MTI Technology.
- Acted for law firm Slater Heelis and another regional law firm on their sales to Lawfront, a legal services consolidator backed by private equity house Blixt Group.
- Acted for various management teams on private equity backed investments, including management teams backed by Antin Infrastructure Partners, Alchemy Partners, BGF, Electra Partners, LDC, Pemberton Asset Management, Straco and Wren House Infrastructure.
