About me

I'm a legal director within the Shipping Litigation team in Piraeus, specialising in contentious shipping and trade matters.

I regularly help shipowners and traders navigate the early stages of a dispute and, where that’s not possible or if matters escalate, to win in arbitration or litigation.

Clients instruct me because I have a deep understanding of the contentious issues that shipowners and traders often face and the experience to apply that to their individual situations. I'm proud of the strong relationships I’ve built with clients by providing prompt, succinct and pragmatic advice with a focus on always achieving the best possible commercial solution.

The international nature of shipping means that my proficiency in several languages in addition to my native Geek also comes in very useful at times – if nothing else it’s a handy ice-breaker.

My experience

  • Represented the successful owners in The Aquafreedom [2024] EWHC 255 (Comm).
  • Acted for claimants in the High Court against the limitation fund set up following the fire on board the M/Y “BIG KAHUNA”.
  • Regularly instructed in high-pressure / high-value MOA negotiations with a contentious aspect.
  • Acted for the owners of a vessel seized in Iran in disputes against the vessel’s charterers and war risks insurers.
  • Acted for major oil traders in a high value demurrage dispute.
  • Dual-qualified (England & Wales, Piraeus Bar Association).
