About me

I’m a debt finance lawyer in the Commodities team who advises financiers, borrowers and other market participants on a wide range of trade finance, structured commodity finance and receivables finance matters along with other types of international debt finance.

Quite simply, I get things done. I take a practical, hands-on approach, deftly guiding clients at every stage to ensure we reach an agreement that works for everyone involved.

I’m motivated by finding opportunities that push me to grow. That’s why I find my role so rewarding, as it continually gives me chances to keep learning, so I can find new ways to support clients.

I regularly speak at industry events on key legal developments and contemporary issues affecting finance industry, such as gender equality and the age gap.

I’m a proud supporter of the International Trade and Forfaiting Association’s trade finance mentoring programme, and have served as one of their mentors for many years.

My experience

  • Advised development finance bank on a USD 5 billion pre-export facility to a major petroleum producer. The facility was backed by export of crude oil and is used to finance the borrower’s capital expenditure under a long-term investment plan.
  • Advised borrowing base agent on a USD 120 million facility to an energy trader for the purchase of crude oil and refined petroleum products. The facility was funded by senior asset-backed notes issued by a Luxembourg SPV. The work included structuring, documenting, and negotiating a bespoke arrangement for engaging the borrowing base agent.
  • Advised US-based fintech company offering supply chain finance to suppliers of goods and services worldwide selling to buyers in the USA, Canada and other jurisdictions on developing standard form documentation to be used for expanding business with UK buyers.
  • Advised European manufacturer of equipment and machinery on the terms of the proposed arrangements with prospective finance counterparties in relation to joint offering to the client’s customers, from finance products helping customers to purchase the equipment to re-delivery of the used equipment at the end of the financing arrangement.
  • Advised lender on a trade finance facility to an importer of nuts/soft fruit to finance storage and sale of products in the US. This involved structuring and negotiating a bespoke security sharing and intercreditor arrangements between bilateral lenders of the borrower group.
  • Led an award-winning trade and commodity finance practice at the world’s largest law firm from 2013 to 2016.

Awards and accolades

  • Recognised as one of the outstanding women in the trade, treasury and payments industry by Trade Finance Global (TFG) in its annual Women in Trade, Treasury & Payments 2024 awards.
