About me

I specialise in advising our shipping clients on corporate commercial matters, including ship sale and purchase, ship finance and re-finance, vessel management agreements, charter parties and a wide range of broader transactional maritime contracts.

I’ve also acted on a number of yacht and aircraft purchase transactions and, outside of the maritime sector, I also advise on general corporate commercial issues.

Whether it’s with shipowning companies, vessel registries or general corporate clients, I assist clients at every stage of a transaction, from initial negotiations to drafting and practical considerations, including on any associated ancillary workstreams, throughout the deal, to coordinating closings and deliverables during completion.

My approach is direct, efficient and pragmatic, and given the fast-moving and logistically complex nature of the shipping industry, I always place the commercial needs of our clients first.

I find it rewarding in my role to be involved in meaningful transactions relating to tangible assets in one of the largest and oldest industries, where the impact of a successful transaction is felt by more than just our clients.

My experience

  • Advising on the financing and several subsequent re-financings of a fleet of over 20 vessels.
  • Acting as English law counsel as part of a Chapter 11 process and advising English clients on maritime and non-maritime-related security.
  • Advising owners on the sale and leaseback, as well as on a loan agreement relating to the financing of a superyacht.
  • Advising owners on the sale and leaseback of two VLOCs.
  • Advising owners on the terms of time charter parties as part of owners’ operations relating to long-term contracts of affreightment.
