We’re pleased to have advised 7IM Group on aspects of its acquisition of Chichester-based financial planning and discretionary investment firm CPN Group.
Under the deal, the CPN team will join Amicus Wealth Management, which recently relaunched as the unified brand for 7IM’s former private client business, the original Amicus Wealth business, and now CPN Financial Services.
Following the acquisition, the enlarged Amicus business will advise more than 6,800 clients with £3.3bn in assets under management. The wider 7IM group oversees £32.5bn and employs more than 900 colleagues nationwide.
The acquisition strengthens 7IM’s presence in the South of England and marks another step in its strategy to build a leading advice-centric wealth management firm in the UK.
Our Corporate team – including Partner Sean Lightfoot, Legal Director Liam Stubbs and Associate Rachel Faulconbridge – provided legal support to 7IM. They were supported by Employment specialists Padma Tadi-Booth, Richard Kay and Rubena Rahman, and our Real Estate team.
It has been a privilege to support 7IM on this important transaction. CPN is a highly respected business with a strong culture and a clear commitment to delivering quality advice, making it an excellent strategic fit for 7IM as it continues to expand its advice-led proposition. We’re proud to have worked with the 7IM team on this significant step in their growth journey.Sean Lightfoot

Dean Proctor, CEO of 7IM, said: “The CPN business and team are an excellent fit for 7IM. Their culture, dedication to quality advice and focus on client outcomes align strongly with our strategic vision as we evolve into a more advice-led organisation. Bringing CPN into the group strengthens Amicus and expands the capabilities we can offer to clients across the region.
“While organic growth remains at the core of our long-term plan, we will continue to complement it with targeted acquisitions that enhance our capabilities, broaden our reach and deliver meaningful value for clients.”
