We’re pleased to have supported the sale of Trilanco Limited (‘Trilanco’), a wholesaler of pet and agricultural products, to DC Holdings (Lincoln) Limited (the parent company of Battle, Hayward and Bower, Limited (‘Battles’)).
Trilanco, a family-owned business established in 1979, is one of the UK’s leading wholesalers across the agricultural, equine, and pet sectors. Operating from its 110,000 sq ft distribution centre in Lancashire, the company supplies more than 2,000 retailers nationwide.
The acquisition unites two long‑standing businesses that share strong values, complementary expertise, and deep roots in the industry. Trilanco will become part of the Battles group with immediate effect, creating a strengthened combined organisation under the continued leadership of Battles’ Managing Director, Richard Dewey-Clarke.
Partner Ian Riggs, Associate James McCarthy and Trainee Solicitor Alex Whittaker from our Corporate team led on the transaction, supported by our Banking and Real Estate teams.
We have worked with Martin and Trilanco for well over a decade and it was a pleasure to have advised him on this important milestone in the company’s journey. Trilanco is a long‑established family business with an excellent reputation, and its combination with DC Holdings represents a strong strategic fit. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Martin and the team, and look forward to seeing the continued success of the enlarged group.Ian Riggs
