Our Corporate team team has advised Asteria Group, the pan-European labels and packaging business backed by Waterland Private Equity, on its acquisition of Abbey Labels, a Suffolk-based self-adhesive label manufacturer with more than 50 years of trading history.

Founded as a family-run printing business in the early 1970s, Abbey Labels has evolved into a leading specialist in self-adhesive label manufacturing, producing more than half a billion labels annually for customers across the UK. The business has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service, supported by expertise in both digital and flexographic printing technologies.

The acquisition further strengthens Asteria Group’s presence in the UK market and expands its production capabilities. Abbey Labels joins the group’s existing UK operations, creating opportunities to share expertise, enhance customer offerings and support continued growth across the business.

Our team was led by Partner and Head of Private Equity David Mkhitarian and Legal Director Olivia Jones – supported by Associate, Rachel Faulconbridge.

Supporting Asteria on this acquisition reflects the continued momentum within its sector, where strategic acquisitions remain an important driver of growth. Abbey Labels has built an impressive business with a strong reputation for quality and innovation, and we are pleased to have supported Asteria as it has looked to strengthen its UK platform.
