CERTANIA acquires FES Group

Deal14.04.20264 mins read

We are delighted to have supported testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services provider CERTANIA in its acquisition of FES Group – a construction compliance consultancy supporting developers, housebuilders, and contractors.

Founded in 2007 and operating nationally from York, London, and Edinburgh, FES Group works with many of the UK’s leading construction companies, as well as architects, consultants, and planners.

Headquartered in Munich and founded in 2020, CERTANIA provides TIC services to a broad range of sectors. The acquisitive group has grown rapidly to almost 50 companies.

As part of CERTANIA’s Buildings and Infrastructure activities, FES Group will strengthen its capabilities in energy compliance, building performance, and testing services in the UK. It also enables closer collaboration across the group, enhancing the overall service offering to clients.

Our Corporate team – led by Partners Emma Callow and Senior Associates Amy Ellis and Tom Wisniewski – provided lead legal advice to Certania on the acquisition.

Supporting CERTANIA on this transaction has been a pleasure. The acquisition represents an important development in the continued expansion of their UK and Ireland platform, and it has been rewarding to work closely with their team throughout the process. Transactions of this nature involve a wide range of legal and commercial considerations, and we were pleased to help navigate these and support the deal through to completion.
