We are delighted to have supported testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services provider CERTANIA in its latest strategic transaction with SPGL – a business specialising in commissioning, qualification, validation (CQV) and GxP quality assurance and compliance services.
London-based SPGL primarily supports multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers with GxP-regulated facilities across Europe. Clients include companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi and Pfizer.
Headquartered in Munich and founded in 2020, CERTANIA provides TIC services to a broad range of sectors. The acquisitive group has grown rapidly to almost 50 companies.
The partnership significantly strengthens CERTANIA’s capabilities in Testing, Inspection and Compliance regulated industries and establishes a dedicated European Centre of Excellence for quality assurance, compliance, qualification and validation services.
Our Corporate team – led by Partner Emma Callow and Legal Director Tom Wisniewski – provided lead legal advice to Certania on the transaction.
We are incredibly pleased to have supported CERTANIA on this latest strategic transaction, further strengthening a relationship that has developed over a number of years. We have already supported three transactions for the group in 2026, reflecting both CERTANIA’s ambitious growth strategy and the trust they place in our team. The addition of SPGL represents a significant step in enhancing CERTANIA’s life sciences capabilities, and we look forward to continuing to support their impressive growth trajectory.Emma Callow
