Law firm Hill Dickinson has advised UK-based IT services provider Celerity on its acquisition of Silverstring Limited, a provider of global data protection services.

Founded in 2002, Lancashire-based Celerity has established itself as a market leader in delivering advanced IT services with an emphasis on cybersecurity and hybrid cloud systems. The deal to acquire Silverstring will allow BGF-backed Celerity to add strength and differentiation to its managed services portfolio.

The agreement also cements a long-term relationship between Celerity and Predatar, developer of Celerity’s innovative recovery assurance technology platform, with Celerity becoming a preferred Predatar Apex partner for the UK market.

Predatar Ltd will become a separate entity under the continued leadership of Silverstring founder and former CEO, Alistair Mackenzie.

Corporate partner David Mkhitarian and legal director Olivia Jones, in Hill Dickinson’s Corporate team, led on the provision of legal advice to Celerity, assisted by paralegal Natalie Gillott.

The UK is one of Europe’s leading centres for cyber innovation and has witnessed a sharp rise in high-growth cyber businesses designed to counter increasingly sophisticated digital threats. By acquiring Silvertsring and becoming a preferred Predatar Apex partner for the UK market, Celerity has positioned itself to extend its reach and win market share. It was a pleasure to work on this deal.
