Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised Reconomy, the leading international circular economy specialist, on the company’s acquisition of Circle Waste, a digital-first, UK outsourced waste management provider.

The acquisition will add depth to Reconomy’s outsourced waste management capabilities and strengthen its market-leading position in the SME market, specifically within the construction industry, as a platform for further growth.

Norfolk-based Circle Waste employs around 90 people with a core focus on providing waste management services to SME customers in the UK, primarily in the construction industry and closely associated sectors. The company’s digital-first model is particularly attractive to small and mid-sized businesses and it also offers a range of digitally provided removal & disposal services.

Corporate lawyer Emma Callow, a partner in Hill Dickinson’s Birmingham team, led on the provision of legal advice to Reconomy together with legal director Matt Smith, associate Alex Bloomer (both Corporate), partner David Klass (Tax), associate Rubena Rahman (Commercial Employment), legal director Ruth Cockram (Real Estate), senior associate Patrick Reade (Commercial) and associate Jodie Wootton (Commercial, TMT and IP).

We were delighted to advise Reconomy on the acquisition of Circle Waste, which adds another complementary business to the growing Reconomy group and brings with it further opportunity to scale its offering to the SME market. We wish both parties every success in taking the expanded business forward.
