Law firm Hill Dickinson has advised the shareholders of Mercedes-Benz retailer L&L Inc on sale of the company to Group 1 for an undisclosed sum.

L&L operates four Mercedes agency sites north of London in Hertford, Stevenage, Hemel Hempstead and Bishops Stortford.

US retailer Group 1 Automotive already operates five UK Mercedes sites to the east of the L&L locations, in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. Its acquisition of L&L will enable Group 1 to further extend its UK presence and boost its retail business by “2,800 new and used cars annually”.

Leading on the provision of legal advice to L&L were corporate partner Ian Gillis, senior associate Olivia Jones and associate Daniel McDonagh, all of Hill Dickinson’s Manchester team.

We were very pleased to advise on this deal, which has brought L&L, an already very successful UK Mercedes-Benz dealership, together with Group 1, presenting significant benefits to both parties as well as to their respective client bases.
