Hill Dickinson advises shareholders of DriveWorks on sale to Bechtle AG

Leading commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised co-founders Glen Smith and Maria Sarkar, BGF and the other shareholders of DriveWorks, a software developer and automation specialist, on its sale to global technology group Bechtle AG.

DriveWorks is a Cheshire-based tech company providing software that delivers 3D visualisation, CAD automation, workflow and integration capabilities to the manufacturing and engineering sector.

Hill Dickinson’s corporate team advised the shareholders of DriveWorks on the deal, led by partner David Mkhitarian, with senior associate Graeme Anderson, associates James McCarthy and Daniel McDonagh and paralegal Abi Hill.

Under Bechtle, DriveWorks will run as an independent operation, exclusively serving its Solidworks software resellers in 54 countries.

DriveWorks’ co-founders, Maria Sarkar and Glen Smith, will remain with the firm but hand over the management of day-to-day operations to the current commercial director Mark Sarkar and chief technology officer Philip Stears.
