International law firm Hill Dickinson has advised Celnor Group on the acquisition of Construction Materials Testing Ltd (CMT) to boost Celnor’s Built Environment division.
Celnor Group, which is backed by mid-market private equity house Inflexion, is a provider of critical data for compliance, safety, and sustainability purposes. Since being founded in 2023, the Group has embarked on an ambitious acquisition strategy to consolidate like-minded businesses with complementary service offerings in the testing, inspection, certification and compliance arena.
The Group’s latest acquisition, Airdrie-based CMT, will work alongside Celnor Group company MATtest Site Services Ltd (MSSL), which Celnor acquired in 2023, to strengthen its offering in the Scottish market. CMT currently employs 17 people.
Leading on the provision of legal advice to Celnor Group were David Mkhitarian and Graeme Anderson of Hill Dickinson’s Private Equity team, assisted by paralegal Paula Mas Alvarez.
As a client of Hill Dickinson since the company was founded, we are pleased to have supported Celnor Group founder Simon Parrington, and the wider Celnor team, once again on the successful acquisition of CMT into the company fold. Celnor is already a remarkable growth journey in which each successive acquisition is helping to build the Group’s strength and presence in the market. Congratulations to both parties in formally bringing together this latest partnership.Graeme Anderson
