We’re proud to have acted as lead legal adviser in Manchester Super Giants and Lancashire County Cricket Club’s corporate investment into a new High-Performance Cricket Centre.

Lancashire Cricket, RPSG and Manchester Super Giants

As the official legal partner of Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) and Emirates Old Trafford, Hill Dickinson worked on behalf of LCCC and its strategic partner RPSG Group, through Manchester Super Giants, in the acquisition of land adjacent to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground for the redevelopment of a state-of-the-art High-Performance Cricket Centre.

The redevelopment will include significantly upgrading the existing facility, which is set to feature indoor nets, a gym, outdoor training areas, as well as sports science and medical facilities, providing a world class environment that will elevate performance at all levels, as well as continue to attract the most talented in the sport.

Our team was led by Diana Syziu, James Paton-Phillip and Sara Mullen – advising on the transaction which further strengthens the successful joint venture between Lancashire Cricket and RPSG following their investment in The Hundred.

The acquisition marks an important milestone in Lancashire Cricket's long-term vision to create one of the finest cricketing infrastructures in the country. The redevelopment will deliver world-class training, performance, medical and sports science facilities for Lancashire Cricket's professional, academy and pathway teams, as well as Manchester Super Giants and other elite domestic and international sides visiting Emirates Old Trafford.

The transaction also carries special significance for Lancashire Cricket, bringing land back into the Club's ownership footprint and creating new opportunities for future generations of players. Supported by RPSG as Lancashire Cricket's business partner in Manchester Super Giants, the investment demonstrates a shared commitment to excellence, innovation and the long-term growth of the game.

On behalf of the whole Hill Dickinson team, I’m incredibly proud of the role we have played in facilitating this milestone moment for Lancashire Cricket. These ambitious, long-term projects reflect the strength of our relationship with Lancashire Cricket and Emirates Old Trafford, and demonstrate the strength of our teams’ experience in the sports sector. This is a fantastic outcome that will shape the future of the game for years to come.
